Kanye west Controversy Proves How Well the Left/Right Paradigm Works to Control Thought

  • #KanyeWest has been extremely outspoken on Twitter recently which has caused heads to figuratively explode as he speaks his mind. Kanye’s tweets weren’t erratic, they weren’t hateful, they weren’t even in full support of the president. However, this did not stop the firestorm of hatred and loathing that has come his way in the last few days. The firestorm started on Sunday when West came back to Twitter after taking nearly a year off. The hip-hop star had yet to even profess his support for the current president when the Washington Post used his name to imply that #blackpeopleshouldn’t like #Trump. It’s okay and very healthy not to like Trump. In fact, TFTP has been outspoken about his call to remove #dueprocess, his unconstitutional provocation of war in #Syria, and his general embrace of the #policestate. However, one shouldn’t seek a certain political ideology or despise another based solely on the color of one’s skin. But thanks to the power of the two-party system, this is the way many people think. Because Kanye’s unconventional support for Trump challenges the status quo’s version of society, those on the left are enraged by it. Some even went so far as to question his love of black people. Others, like People Magazine, questioned the man’s sanity for his entirely peaceful tweets. In the sea of hatred flowing back and forth on Twitter, at least one tweet made it through that exposed the sheer insanity of the rage associated with Kanye’s recent rant. Indeed, the media’s reaction to Kanye, a famous black man attempting to speak his mind, is racist. Are we only to support successful black men if they fit a stereotype and vote the same? Kanye even clarified with his followers that he doesn’t agree with everything Trump does and that this is okay. Sadly, logic and reason are not tools of those who remain too blinded by the party and emotional knee-jerk reactions reign supreme. Ideas that challenge the majority are shouted down in a sea of anger instead of contemplated and civilly and intelligently dismantled or accepted. Kanye appears to get a fraction of this as the following tweets highlight. Unfortunately, however, this is where Kanye’s tweets fail to fully shatter the paradigm. If Kanye West really wanted to #MAGA, then he should be calling out the anti-freedom moves by Trump that mirror those of his ostensible rival in the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton. As TFTP previously reported, there would have been very little difference in the current state of affairs had Clinton won, as Trump has carried out most of her biggest plans, including war with Syria and talks of getting back in the TPP. It is entirely possible to disagree with both liberals and conservatives. It is called thinking for yourself. TFTP will often be accused of supporting a certain party because we report on a piece of legislation that is supported by a certain party. However, both sides sometimes have good ideas. Being pro-self defense and gun rights makes no one more a Republican than supporting legalization of weed makes someone a Democrat. These ideas promote freedom, and that is what will truly lead to peace and prosperity. How can people claim to be against racism while claiming that Kanye is a sellout because he is black and supports Trump? What’s more, how can people claim to be pro-gun rights and pro-liberty while simultaneously cheering on a puppet in the White House house who is opposed to both? The answer to that question is the two-party paradigm.

  • For the majority of Americans, the United States political system is seen as a football game. Any time their party is in power, it’s as if they are ‘winning’ and the other party or team is ‘losing.’ But what most Americans fail to see is that both ‘teams’ have the same owner. That owner cares not about which one of their teams is ‘winning,’ just so long as its one of their teams in the game. The controlled politicians, the rigged system, and the elite are not some vast conspiracy as much as they are a tendency of the state in general. As long as a system exists that allows government force to be bought and sold for the benefit and privilege of a few, these atrocities will continue. The money shoved into the pockets of politicians on behalf of special interest groups, aka bribery, has become so mainstream and widely accepted that no one even bats an eye at the billions doled out to their elected officials on behalf of lobbyists, including supporters of Trump and Clinton. Republicans and Democrats alike sit back in their plush, taxpayer-funded offices in white marble buildings, rubbing elbows with elite businessmen who pay them to write laws that create unfair advantages for their industries. In the extremely rare case that a politician resists this corruption and refuses to conform, they are ridiculed by fellow lawmakers, painted as kooks by the mainstream media, and their supporters labeled as radical nutjobs. Case in point—Kayne West. Meanwhile, We The People argue over the various privileges granted, and how much of our paychecks can be stolen by the almighty rulers on high.

  • Seeing outside of the two-party paradigm is a difficult task. It can take years for people to break their conditioning and see the political system for the rigged game that it is. The good news is that once you see the system for what it is, you cannot unsee it. No one goes back to sleep, despite the fact that waking up to the system can be particularly stressful. Hopefully, the conversation as put out there by Kanye West helps people break free from this mold. Even better, hopefully, it allows Kanye himself to truly question such heartfelt support for a man who is giving $400 billion in weapons to the country behind the attacks on 9/11. To Kanye, we offer this advice: do not be discouraged by the establishment who attempts to silence your radical and peaceful views even if you support the current puppet in the White House and are doing so to promote an album. They do this out of fear, it’s merely an act of self-preservation and it shows that open-mindedness, peace, and willingness to have a conversation, are overcoming cruelty and ignorance. #Freedom_Faction
